PLANNING YOUR BABY PORTRAIT
Babies are such precious treasures and their purity and innocence is a fleeting moment that should be captured and treasured for a lifetime. Don’t miss this unrepeatable time in their special life.
WHEN  -  Newborn portraits can be shot right up until 3 months of age but as they change so quickly the best time to photograph your newborn is in the first 3-4 weeks. It’s also a perfect opportunity to have that first family portrait as dad may have some time off work. We recommend morning shoots as this is usually the best time of the day for babies and we also try to work around a feed, this helps to

settle baby and allows us to try and get some beautiful sleeping shots as well.
WHAT TO WEAR  -  We shoot in our natural light studio and find newborns are best au-naturel, so when you bring baby ensure they are in loose clothing so they do not get too many marks from their clothes and they are ready to go when you arrive. The studio has a range of wraps and props we use for our baby shoots, however if you have anything special or sentimental, feel free to bring it along with you.
For studio shots with mum and dad we generally prefer you in white or black tops (black can be
more flattering for the figure) and ensure your make-up is natural, but just a little heavier than normal.

For older babies who are sitting up, please refer to the KIDS CAPERS section on what to wear.
